Macarthur Parkour - April Event Recap
Rain, Cookies, and First-Timers: How Seddon Park Became the Heart of Parkour This Easter
It was Easter long weekend. Most of our usual athletes were off on holidays, families had plans, and honestly, we wondered—would anyone even show up? The forecast didn’t help either. Rain fell through the morning skies, and grey clouds loomed as we packed the car and prepped our team for another Macarthur Parkour event. But something happened. As we arrived at Seddon Park in Glenfield, the rain stopped. The clouds parted, and the playground—built specifically by Campbelltown Council for parkour just six months earlier—was dry enough to launch our April event into full swing. And people showed up. A lot of them. Many for the very first time.

New Faces, New Energy
This wasn’t just another event. It marked the first time we introduced paid tickets for Macarthur Parkour. That might sound small, but it was a big step in our mission to grow a sustainable, athlete-first parkour community.

Some families travelled all the way from Liverpool, drawn in by curiosity, a sense of adventure, or simply the hope that their kids would find something special. And they did.
The Warm-Up: From Lava to Laughter
The day kicked off with games and warm-ups led by our local hero, Jayden, who had the crowd laughing, moving, and bonding over “The Floor is Lava” and other icebreakers. By the time the warm-up was over, the kids weren’t strangers anymore—they were a crew. And they were ready.

The Parkour360 Academy Workshop
We transitioned into our Parkour360 Academy workshop, where we broke down the foundational elements of parkour: rolls, jumps, vaults, climbs, and bars. Each movement was introduced and practiced with care so that beginners could build confidence, and returning athletes could sharpen their form.Because right after that, the Speed Quest began.

Speed Quest: Racing Against Yourself
The Speed Quest is simple: Get from Point A to Point B as fast as possible. But parkour is about more than speed—it’s about efficiency, adaptability, and control. With newly-learned techniques, kids tackled our custom-built course with focus and fire.We split the course into Junior and Advanced categories. And what we witnessed was amazing—first-timers who had just learned vaults were using them in real runs. The look on their faces? Pure empowerment.

Skill Quest: From Learning to Creating
After Speed Quest came our Skill Quest, a free-flow session with challenge zones around the park. From beginner to advanced levels, kids used their new “parkour vision” to navigate obstacles, invent new routes, and attempt set challenges with the help of our team.It wasn’t just about completing moves—it was about creating a connection with movement. This is what we strive for: turning a park into a personal playground, where creativity meets physicality.

A Sweet Finish
Every registered athlete received a protein cookie upon arrival (thanks to our local partner Tessie’s Treats) and had their action moments professionally captured by our dedicated photographer. You can grab your event photos by clicking the button below or checking your email. To end the day, we held our awards ceremony. Top 3 finishers in each Speed Quest category received prizes—including gluten, nut, and lactose-free baked goods and our now-famous giant cookie for first place winners (yes, bigger than your face). But the real win? The energy. The effort. The community.

A Turning Point for Macarthur Parkour
This event wasn’t just another meet-up. It was a milestone. We proved that even on a rainy long weekend, parkour can thrive. That kids, parents, and athletes want more than a class—they want an experience. We’re proud to keep delivering just that.
