PARKOURSOME at Darling Harbour’s Move. Groove. Darling. Festival – An Action-Packed 3-Day ActivationThis Easter, we were proud to deliver one of our most dynamic and large-scale parkour activations to date as part of the Move. Groove. Darling. school holiday festival hosted by Darling Harbour. Over three consecutive days (April 18–20), KongQuest ran our flagship parkour workshop experience—PARKOURSOME—engaging more than 900 kids in high-energy movement, fun, and skill-building.
What is PARKOURSOME?
PARKOURSOME is our premium youth workshop service: Parkour + Awesome created specifically for Darling Harbour.
It’s designed to be the ultimate, scalable parkour experience tailored for major public events, festivals, or council activations. Built for throughput, energy, and engagement, our team creates a controlled, safe, and exciting circuit that leaves a lasting impact.
Scope of the Event
For Move. Groove. Darling, we:
- Operated all three days, 12pm–3pm
- Delivered 20-minute sessions, rotating groups every 20 minutes
- Hosted up to 100 kids per hour, totaling 900 participants
- Occupied a 200-square-metre space in Tumbalong Park
- Delivered a seamless, high-impact experience for kids—and a moment of calm for parents
Workshop Format: Structured for Success
Our parkour circuit was broken down into five streamlined stages:
- Registration & Wristbanding – With our onsite sign-in and digital waiver system, parents registered quickly and safely
- Warm-Up Station – Guided by coaches to get kids moving, focused, and injury-free
- Vaults Station – Teaching body coordination and movement over obstacles
- Jumps & Rolls Station – Focused on landing control, balance, and creative flow
- Obstacle Course – The finale! Kids applied their new skills in a dynamic course designed to challenge and excite
With 6 professional parkour coaches present across the space, we ensured that every child received support, encouragement, and real-time guidance to maximise their learning and enjoyment.
What Made This Event Special?
- Fast Turnaround: With a 20-minute session model, we enabled maximum participation while maintaining high instruction quality.
- Parental Relief: Many parents thanked us directly—the kids got their energy out, had a blast, and were far easier to manage afterwards!
- Repeat Engagement: Several children returned multiple times across the weekend, completing the course up to five times.
- Memorable Moments: For many kids, this was their first time experiencing parkour—and we made sure it won’t be their last.
Behind the Scenes
We integrated a full registration and follow-up system, including:
- On-site waiver management
- Wristband allocation for tracking sessions
- Email collection for future outreach
This ensured smooth front-of-house management for the client and a structured, consistent workflow for our team. The event ran like clockwork, from start to finish.
