Parkour360 News Ep. 2 – Simpson Park Training

Parkour360 is your free online school for learning parkour in a safe and simple way. This blog is for beginners, parents, youth, and adults who want to build confidence and understand parkour at their own pace. Today’s recap highlights the amazing progress from our community during this week’s Skill Quest.

Training at Simpson Park

This week our team trained at Simpson Park in Sydney. It is a bright and open training spot with walls, rails, rocks, and natural features that suit all levels. The crew rated it ten out of ten and it was the perfect place to review Skill Quest entries for the week.

Zackery completed all three levels with clean technique and strong confidence. His movements showed great control and a clear understanding of the parkour basics within the Vaults and Jumps elements.

  • Level 1: Lazy Vault A very clean and controlled lazy vault. His hand placement was sharp and his body stayed aligned through the motion.
  • Level 2: Speed Vault over a rail This was smooth and technical. The speed vault is all about timing and flow, and Zackery showed both. It looked fast, safe, and confident.
  • Level 3: Kong Pre A classic high level parkour skill that needs power, precision, and strong technique. Zackery linked all three levels together by landing a Kong Pre to the rock with control. It shows he has a lot of potential in this area and I would love to see him keep growing this skill.

“Your confidence grows when you take one clear step at a time.”

Izzy took on the Level 2 challenge, which was to find a rail and perform a vault. She chose to attempt a Gate Vault, which is an intermediate skill within the Vaults element.

The gate vault can feel scary at first because it puts your body upside down while moving over a rail. It demands trust in your hands, awareness in the air, and a calm mind. On this day, I was coaching her through it and she committed fully. Seeing her upload it afterwards was amazing.

She is progressing fast and I cannot wait to see what she tries next.

“Being upside down feels scary at first, but courage grows every time you try.”

3. Tije van Oeveren

Tije completed all three levels with creative and advanced choices. His style shows great body awareness and a strong understanding of movement.

  • Level 1: Front Handspring Vault This is not a classic beginner vault. It is an advanced skill that needs power, flexibility, and commitment. He executed it perfectly over the obstacle, showing a unique expression of parkour.
  • Level 2: Dive Kong to a rail This is huge. A dive kong to a rail requires perfect hand placement, trust, and bravery. Diving toward a rail is not easy and he made it look natural.
  • Level 3: Reverse Pre This was the standout. A reverse pre is when you place one hand down, rotate over the shoulder, and move backward into a precision landing. It is a blind landing, meaning you cannot see your target until the last moment. This skill demands aerial awareness, instinct, and belief in your ability.

He trained it safely by placing a block in front at first. He repeated the movement again and again before removing the block and going straight for the landing. After many attempts he finally stuck the pre. In parkour, the stick is the moment you know you truly nailed it.

“The stick is a reminder that patience and repetition always pay off.”

A Huge Kongratulations to All Athletes
