Setting the Scene

Oran Park closed for inspections at the last minute. We moved to Robinson Park in Campbelltown without missing a beat. Locals call it The Castle because the stone and levels feel like ramparts.

We have trained here in the rain before. This time the sky was blue and the air was crisp. Perfect for a winter community day.

What Happened

The event stayed true to community roots. No ads. No pressure. Just consistency and care. Fifteen people arrived because they love what this movement stands for.

Momentum beats hype. Show up, help people move, let the culture grow.

Parents invited friends. Kids dragged siblings. New faces mixed with regulars. That is how a real scene forms.

Results and Highlights

  • Fifteen attendees trained together at The Castle.
  • Zero ad spend confirmed that community trust carries reach.
  • Two runs each created a fair and focused comp window.
  • Cheer culture kept the energy up and the learning sharp.
  • Photos live in our Facebook album.

It was not about volume. It was about meaningful reps and shared progress.

What We Learned

We share lessons so other parkour leaders can grow with us. Every meetup is a small experiment with real people.

What worked

  • Community over ads, attendance came from relationships, not algorithms.
  • Experienced cohort, higher baseline skill allowed a deeper course and better flow.
  • Modular format, warm ups, stations, build your line, then comp. Easy to scale up or down.
  • Cheer culture, parents and kids formed natural squads. Noise equals confidence.

What we will improve

  • Communication buffer, location changes need email and SMS alongside socials.
  • Parent involvement, clearer invites for parents to play or volunteer.
  • Opt in funnel, even casual days need a light email capture to grow the list.
