Parkour360 is your free online school for parkour. This blog is for beginners, parents, youth and adults who want to learn parkour safely and confidently.

In our first ever Parkour360 News live stream we explored weekly challenges, broke down real movement and showed how our community can learn parkour step by step with no pressure. Here is what happened and what you can learn from it. You can also watch the news on our YouTube channel here.

What Is Parkour360 News

Parkour360 News is a weekly live show with Alex and Jayden where we:

  • Review the weekly Skill Quest challenge
  • Watch and coach member clips from inside the Parkour360 classroom
  • Share insights about parkour training, safety and progression
  • Break down what happened this week and what is coming next

The community is still new, so people can feel a bit shy about posting. Our goal is to make Parkour360 a place where everyone feels welcome to share their training and ask questions. You can watch this specific episode here: Parkour360 News 1 The Big Bang.

This Week’s Skill Quest Precision Jumps

This week focused on precision jumps. These are a core part of parkour and a great place for beginners to start. You can see the challenge breakdown here: Skill Quest 1.

Each Skill Quest has three levels:

  • Level 1
  • Level 2
  • Level 3

Level 1 Standing Precision Jump

  • Start from still
  • Jump from one surface to another
  • Land with half your foot on and half your foot off the edge
  • Avoid flat foot landings

Why it matters:

  • Builds basic power
  • Develops accuracy
  • Creates a foundation for all jump progressions

Level 2 Running Precision Jump

  • Use a smooth, relaxed run up
  • Take off with both feet together
  • Focus on a soft, controlled stick

Why it matters:

  • Introduces momentum control
  • Improves timing
  • Builds confidence for real environment jumps

Level 3 Standing 360 Precision

  • Jump and rotate 360 degrees
  • Try to spot the landing during the spin
  • Stick with control while stopping rotation

This level is challenging because spotting the landing while spinning can feel disorienting. Even experienced athletes take many attempts to land it cleanly, which is why posting progress clips inside the Skill Quest community post is so valuable.

How To Measure Your Jumps Safely

To keep your training safe and personal, we shared two simple ways to measure distance:

Use Your Body Length

  • Match the jump distance to your height
  • Helps beginners build confidence
  • Scales naturally as you grow stronger

Use Your Own “Feet”

This is a classic parkour method using your actual shoe size:

  • Place your feet heel to toe
  • Count each step as one “foot”
  • Keeps jump distances relative to your body

Why it works:

  • Prevents unsafe overcommitting
  • Fits all ages and body types
  • Helps create consistent progression

Safety And Mindset For Bigger Jumps

Jayden shared his mental approach for committing to a larger running pre with potential hazards below.

  • Do prep jumps to test power and accuracy
  • Check your landing height and surface carefully
  • Commit calmly once your prep is solid

Training takeaways:

  • Confidence grows from small wins
  • Preparation removes doubt
  • Safety comes before distance every time

360 Precision Jumps And Spotting The Landing

A highlight of the stream was the discussion on how to spot landings during 360 jumps.

  • Should you keep looking at the take off until your feet leave
  • Should you whip your head early to spot the landing sooner

Community question: How do you spot your landing in a 360 pre

This is the kind of conversation that makes the Parkour360 community valuable. Everyone learns faster when we share our experiences inside the classroom and in posts like this Skill Quest community thread.

Weekly Tutorial Highlight Animal Landings

This week’s tutorial focused on animal landings, part of the Impact element. You can watch it inside the classroom here: Animal Landings Tutorial.

What They Are

  • A way to absorb vertical drops using hands and feet
  • Keep your body low and controlled
  • Spread impact safely through your limbs

Why They Are Not For Complete Beginners

  • Require wrist strength and shoulder control
  • Need solid upper body strength
  • Demand comfort in low positions

When To Use Them

  • Falling straight down from a wall
  • Slipping from a hang
  • Situations with little or no forward momentum

Important: forcing a roll in a vertical drop can be painful. Animal landings are often the safer option when you fall straight down.

Why Posting Your Clips Matters

We cannot review your clips if you do not post them.

Social media is for highlights. Parkour360 is for progress.

  • Post your honest training, not just your best attempts
  • Ask for help and specific feedback
  • Use the community to grow stronger and safer

A great place to start is this week’s Skill Quest community post, where you can upload your standing, running and 360 precision jumps.
