Beneath the tall gums at 72A Greenwich Road, we turned the everyday space into a parkour classroom. Handrails became vault rails. Logs became balance drills. Stone ledges became precision stations.
Parents loved the use your own playground approach. No gym required. Just imagination and a few portable boxes. This is the heart of Playkour, meet kids where they are and help them see movement in the world around them.

This was a custom spin on our Playkour Starter 40. Two sessions, sixty minutes each, older kids first, younger group next. The opener was a live demo with front flips and wall runs, plus a short talk on why parkour helps daily life.
Element | Design Choice | Outcome |
---|---|---|
Station A | Vaults and landings using existing rails | Fast confidence for first timers |
Station B | Balance lines and precision steps on logs and ledges | Control, focus, repeatable progress |
Rotation model | Sixty minutes per age group with clear briefing | Flow, safety, and time for real coaching |
Demo hook | Short performance with a safety chat | Energy up, nerves down, fast buy in |
Mid session, a shy eight year old paused at a gap. Our coach pointed to a smaller rail and said, start here, win here. Two tries later she cleared the original jump and high fived her crew. That single win echoed all day.
Numbers tell part of the story. The real story is confidence. Many kids left scanning rails on the way to the car.
We share lessons so other operators, coaches, and councils can grow with us. Every activation is a small lab. Here is what we found.
Pro tip for event founders, borrow the council comms early. Lane Cove style weekly what is on posts can triple reach in a day.

This story ties to Mission Two, create parkour careers for athletes. School programs turn athletes into facilitators, mentors, and trusted role models. They also show councils and schools that parkour belongs in the plan.
We were not just teaching jumps. We were handing out courage, one vault at a time. Parents asked about the next session. Kids kept looking for rails. That is brand stickiness you cannot buy.
