Who: KongQuest Parkour team at Darling Harbour’s Move. Groove. Darling. Festival

What: A 3 day youth parkour activation called PARKOURSOME engaging 900 participants

Why: To bring parkour to the public, showcase athlete careers, and create unforgettable youth experiences

Setting the Scene

The Move. Groove. Darling. Festival is one of Sydney’s most vibrant school holiday celebrations, transforming Darling Harbour into a playground of music, art, and motion. This year, we were invited to add something new, something bold, something physical — PARKOURSOME.

We designed the activation specifically for Darling Harbour, building a scalable, safe, and high energy parkour circuit that could handle hundreds of participants daily.

The result was a seamless, high impact setup that balanced excitement with structure, creating a space where kids could move freely, safely, and confidently.

What Happened

What is PARKOURSOME?

PARKOURSOME stands for Parkour + Awesome — our premium youth parkour activation service built for large public spaces. It’s a refined version of our Playkour format, optimised for major festivals and council events.

Each event is engineered for throughput and engagement, allowing hundreds of kids to learn parkour fundamentals through short, exciting, and guided experiences.

Five stages of learning, one unforgettable experience.

Scope of the Event

  • Operated across three consecutive days – April 18–20
  • Daily hours: 12 PM – 3 PM
  • Throughput: 100 kids per hour
  • Total participants: 900+
  • Space: 200 square metres in Tumbalong Park
  • Team: 6 professional parkour coaches

Each 20 minute rotation introduced new participants to parkour through fun challenges that encouraged movement, balance, and creativity. Parents watched proudly as their kids learned real skills, while many came back multiple times to master the course.

Workshop Format: Structured for Success

  1. Registration & Wristbanding – quick check in with digital waivers and wristbands.
  2. Warm Up Station – guided prep and mobility drills.
  3. Vaults Station – learning coordination and flow.
  4. Jumps & Rolls Station – safe landings and balance control.
  5. Obstacle Course Finale – applying everything in a high energy run.

Our method blends structure and freedom, ensuring every participant feels confident and successful while experiencing what parkour truly is.

Results and Highlights

  • 3 day activation reaching over 900 kids.
  • 20 minute rotations enabling maximum participation with zero overcrowding.
  • Repeat attendance – kids returned multiple times across the weekend.
  • Zero incidents – safety systems worked flawlessly.
  • 100% positive feedback from parents and event staff.

Many parents told us that after our sessions, their kids were calmer, happier, and inspired. For them, PARKOURSOME wasn’t just an activity — it was a chance to see their children move with purpose.
